Povzetek
Prispevek opisuje osebni pogled na pomen in vlogo domoljubja in varovanja narave kot pomembnih elementov srednješolskega geografskega kurikuluma. Izpostavljeni so tudi pomen in vloga geografije kot učnega predmeta, pomen vrednot in vzgojna funkcija predmeta, status geografije v srednji šoli, potreba po spremembi učnega načrta za geografijo ter nujnosti večje vključitve učiteljev pri načrtovanju in izvedbi učnih načrtov. Predstavljen je tudi primer projekta Državljanska kultura, ki ga izvajamo na šoli in kaže, kaj lahko vsak izmed nas stori na tem področju.
Abstract
On Patriotism and Nature Protection
The article describes the author’s personal views on the importance and role of patriotism and nature protection as important elements of the secondary school Geography curriculum. It also highlights the importance and role of Geography as a school subject; the importance of values and the educational function of this subject; the status of Geography in secondary school; the need to modify the Geography Curriculum; and the necessity of greater involvement of teachers in the planning and implementation of curricula. It also presents an example of the Civic Culture project being implemented at the school, which shows what each one of us can do in this area.
