Povzetek
V prispevku je predstavljeno, koliko so dijaki slovenskih nezdravstvenih srednjih šol informirani o demenci, s poudarkom na zdravstveni pismenosti, povezani s tveganjem za razvoj demence. Prikaz raziskovalnih izsledkov anketne raziskave opozori na mnenja dijakov o škodljivosti spremenljivih dejavnikov za razvoj demence v odraslosti in ob tem na pomanjkljivosti v njihovem poznavanju le-teh. Pri zmanjševanju tveganja za razvoj demence v njihovi odraslosti je treba upoštevati pomanjkljivosti v zdravstveni pismenosti mladostnikov in jim nuditi optimalne možnosti za učenje o zdravem življenjskem slogu.
Abstract
Slovenian Adolescents’ Knowledge About Dementia Risk Factors
The article presents the awareness of dementia in students of Slovenian non-medical secondary schools, with the emphasis on health literacy related to the risk of dementia. The presentation of the research findings of the survey points to the students’ opinion about the dangers of variable modifiable risk factors for the development of dementia in adulthood, and at the same time to the deficiencies in their knowledge of them. When reducing the risk of dementia in their adulthood it is necessary to take into account the shortcomings in the adolescents’ health literacy and to offer them optimal opportunities to learn about a healthy lifestyle
