Izvleček
Gibanje je otrokova naravna potreba in predstavlja pomemben del njegovega vsakdana. Ko se otrok giblje, spoznava okolje, prostor, čas in samega sebe. S tem pozitivno vpliva na zdrav telesni razvoj, doživlja veselje, z razvijanjem gibalnih sposobnosti in spretnosti pa gradi zaupanje vase. Z gibanjem otrok raziskuje, spoznava in dojema svet okrog sebe. Šolske športne dejavnosti (predmet šport, neobvezni izbirni predmeti, razširjeni program, interesne dejavnosti, šole v naravi …) razvijajo gibalne sposobnosti in podajajo raznolika gibalna znanja, ki so nujno potrebna, da se bo lahko otrok in kasneje odrasel učinkovito spopadal z različnimi izzivi življenja, tudi vključevanjem v cestni promet. Otrok je že od malih nog aktivni udeleženec v cestnem prometu in prav zato je pomembno, da ga na to vlogo tudi ustrezno pripravimo. Otroci so v cestni promet vključeni kot pešci in sopotniki v/na različnih vozilih (v avtomobilu, na avtobusu, na kolesu …). V začetku seveda niso sami in se veščin ravnanja v cestnem prometu učijo z zgledom staršev, starih staršev, vzgojiteljev, učiteljev, starejših bratov in sester … Slej ko prej pa morajo v cestni promet vstopiti tudi sami in takrat so izkušnje, znanje, veščine in spretnosti bistvenega pomena. Kako torej vplivati na otroka in ga ustrezno opolnomočiti za vključevanje v cestni promet? Katere gibalne sposobnosti razvijati, da bo pri tem uspešen in varen? Katera gibalna znanja podajati, da bo suveren, zanesljiv in samozavesten?
Abstract
Importance of Movement Skills for Safe Walking and Cycling
Movement is children’s natural need and represents an important part of their everyday life. As they move, they learn about their environment, space and time, as well as themselves. Through movement, they promote healthy physical development, experience joy and learn to trust themselves by developing different movement skills and abilities. Physical activity is their way of researching, discovering and perceiving the world around them. School sports activities (subject of Sport, optional elective subjects, extended programme, extracurricular activities, school trips, etc.) contribute to the development of movement abilities and to the learning of various movement skills necessary for children – later also as adults – to successfully face different life’s challenges, including road traffic. Children are active participants in road traffic since early age – either as pedestrians or passengers in different vehicles (cars, buses, bicycles, etc.) – which is why it is important that they be well prepared for the role they play in traffic. At the beginning, they are not alone of course, which means that they learn traffic skills by observing their parents, grandparents, educators, teachers and older siblings. But sooner or later, they have to face traffic by themselves and that is when their experiences, knowledge and skills are key. Therefore, how can we influence children and empower them for active participation in road traffic? Which movement abilities should be developed to ensure their performance and safety? Which movement skills can be taught that would help them develop trust in themselves, reliability and confidence?
