Izvleček
V prispevku želimo osvetliti mnenje učencev in učiteljev o izkustvenem učenju, natančneje o ekskurziji.
Abstract
Students’ and Teachers’ Opinions about the Fieldtrip
The article highlights students’ and teachers’ opinions on experiential learning, more specifically, the fieldtrip. The research was performed with students from grades 1-5 and their teachers with the purpose of finding their opinions about the organisation of a fieldtrip for the subject Learning about the Environment and Society. To collect the answers from students, we used a questionnaire with open-ended and closed-ended questions which was given to 156 students. To collect the answers from their teachers, we performed a non-standardised (semi-structured) interview with key, mostly open-ended questions. The interview was used on five class teachers (from grades 1-5). The research clearly shows that all students prefer classes in the form of a fieldtrip rather than in the classroom. They also believe that they more easily remember the knowledge acquired on a fieldtrip, which is confirmed by some of the teachers. Only the upper class students connect the fieldtrip with a learning experience. Teachers, however, also emphasised a few shortcomings in the organisation and implementation of the fieldtrip.
