Večji del odgovornosti za vzpostavitev uspešnega sodelovanja in dobrega odnosa s sogovorniki, starši, nosimo v šolskem prostoru strokovni delavci, zato moramo vseskozi ohranjati profesionalen odnos in odločen način komunikacije.
Abstract
Collaborative Dialogue between Teachers and Parents
This article is the result of collective project work among four head teachers who joined forces within the programme of Developing Leadership under the auspices of the National School of Leadership in Education. During our one year mutual consultation, we shared with each other the experience gained in our own practice and explored the chosen field, systematically reflecting on collaboration with parents and analysing the various forms of teacher communication with them. Within the framework of research section, a questionnaire was developed, applied, and analysed, in order to delve deeper into the project content. One of the achievements of our year-long work was a practical leaflet for teaching staff and parents, which presents guidelines for a successful dialogue. The prerequisite for this dialogue and collaboration with parents lies in a quality relationship which, in turn, can only be successful through communication, the abilities and skills of listening and delivery. The major part of responsibility for establishing successful cooperation and good relations with our interlocutors, pupils’ parents within the school setting, lies with the teaching staff who must constantly maintain a professional attitude and firm communication style. A mutual dialogue based on safety, acceptance and understanding is key for solving continuous and current issues which we all encounter on a daily basis.
