Izvleček
Pedagoški delavci se v zadnjih letih srečujemo z vse bolj etnično raznolikimi oddelčnimi skupnostmi, kar s seboj prinaša veliko izzivov, pa tudi priložnosti za vzpostavitev inkluzivnih učnih okolij. V prispevku so predstavljene ovire, s katerimi se v šoli srečujejo učenci, pripadniki etničnih manjšin, ter izsledki raziskav s področja socialne vključenosti tovrstne skupine učencev. Izpostavimo vlogo učitelja pri podpori pozitivnih medkulturnih odnosov ter poudarimo pomen njegove samorefleksije in poklicnega razvoja pri razvijanju kakovostnega odnosa z učenci, pripadniki etničnih manjšin.
Abstract
Social Inclusion of Ethnic Minority Students: Challenges and Opportunities for Classroom Communities
In recent years, educators have been confronted with increasingly ethnically diverse classroom communities, thus presenting many challenges as well as opportunities for creating inclusive learning environments. This paper presents the barriers faced by ethnic minority learners in school and research findings on their social inclusion. It highlights the teacher’s role in promoting positive intercultural interactions and the importance of self-reflection and professional development in creating quality relationships with ethnic minority learners.
