Cilj je bil učence spodbuditi k branju in razmišljanju o ekoloških vrednotah, človekovem pozitivnem in negativnem vplivu na okolje ter o kvaliteti medsebojnih odnosov. Zgodbe obravnavajo temo odnosa človeka do živali, naravnih bogastev (vode, zraka, gozdov, rek itd.), ločevanja odpadkov, recikliranja, pravičnega odnosa med osebami, strpnost, sobivanje, kar bo vključeno v proces raziskovanja ekoloških tem pri programu Mladi za napredek Maribora.
Abstract
School Library as the Foundation of Ecological Education in Primary School
Education for nature conservation is no longer up to individuals but a global trend and the responsibility of each and every one of us. As librarians we are aware of the responsibility that our role entails – through our approach and the selection of appropriate books, we enter the sphere of a child’s worldview and are an important stepping stone on which pupils build their attitude towards the environment. At the library of the Janko Padežnik Primary School in Maribor we have compiled a list of picture books and young adult fiction whose themes relate to ecology, the protection of plant and animal species, relationships between animals and between people. We have gone about raising awareness for living in a tolerant society in a holistic way. Our goal was to encourage pupils to read and think about ecological values, about a person’s positive and negative impact on the environment, and about the quality of interpersonal relationships. The stories cover the topic of people’s attitudes towards animals, natural resources (water, air, forests, rivers, etc.), waste sorting, recycling, equitable relationships among people, tolerance and coexistence, which will be included in the process of researching ecological topics under the programme “Mladi za napredek Maribora/Youth for the Progress of Maribor”.
