Izvleček
V članku je predstavljen primer učnega scenarija, ki je nastal v mednarodnem projektu TIME (Teachers‘ Inquiry in Mathematics Education). Primer iz geometrije v prostoru, ki je bil izveden v srednji šoli na Hrvaškem, so učitelji spremljali po metodi Lesson Study. Dijaki so na podlagi primera iz neposredne okolice opredelili definicijo matematičnega pojma ter na podlagi definicije, ki so jo sestavili njihovi sošolci, izdelali model geometrijskega pojma. Na ta način so ponotranjili pomembnost natančne rabe matematičnega jezika.
Abstract
Modelling Real World Situations
This paper outlines a teaching scenario created as part of the international project TIME (Teachers’ Inquiry in Mathematics Education). An example from solid geometry was carried out at a secondary school in Croatia and monitored by teachers employing the Lesson Study method. Students defined a mathematical concept using a situation from their immediate environment and then produced a model of the geometric concept based on the definition constructed by their classmates. In this sense, they internalised the significance of the precise usage of mathematical language.
